Brian Broomall is a licensed residential building contractor, carpenter, and project manager with 20+ years of experience building homes in Northern Minnesota, Michigan, Hawaii, and Colorado ski country. He moved to Grand Marais, MN in 2019 drawn by the strong community and beautiful landscape on the North Shore. Brian started Snow Bunting Builders in 2022 seeing an opportunity to apply his unique blend of carpentry skills, project management experience, and sustainability expertise.
Brian enjoys working with clients through each step of the building process and helping them create meaningful spaces on the North Shore.
When he’s not building homes, Brian enjoys adventure cycling, trail running, canoeing in the Boundary Waters, and family days with wife Dorothy and pups Penny and Mabel.

Snow Buntings are a hearty type of Arctic bird that migrate along the North Shore of Lake Superior. They swoop and spiral in-sync with each other to form exquisite murmurations in the sky. When a project is well-managed, it feels a lot like a murmuration: Each person simultaneously focused on their own task (design, excavation, foundation, pluming, electrical, carpentry, inspection, etc.) and continually adjusting to each other to create something beautiful.
